October to December 2024

2024 has been an incredible year and we’re thrilled to reflect on the strides we’ve made together in the last quarter of this year. From hosting insightful webinars to training a multitude of dedicated educators, it's been a season of growth and learning. Stepping into 2025, we're excited to carry this momentum forward, continuing to innovate, inspire, and make an even greater impact.

Here's to a dynamic new year ahead, filled with new opportunities and successes!
A snapshot of the final quarter of 2024 is provided below.

Webinar

In our recent Beyond the Binary webinar, Leadership Coach and CTA Psychotherapist Deepak Dhananjaya highlighted the importance of fostering open conversations and creating inclusive policies and structures in schools. "It is crucial to provide students with spaces where they can express themselves without fear of judgement," Dhananjaya shared.

Being sensitive to children's gender and sexuality is foundational in creating inclusive classrooms. Today’s teachers need both the knowledge and skills to foster authentic, meaningful interactions.

There is an urgent need for educators to promote dialogue and implement inclusive practices, ensuring safe and equitable learning environments for students with diverse gender and sexual identities.

Developing Short Term Asynchronous Training Modules

The Teacher Foundation, in partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, is developing short-term asynchronous training modules for their Teachers of Tomorrow (ToT) platform. These upskilling professional development courses are designed to address diverse themes aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Cambridge Education briefs and frameworks.

They cover a range of critical aspects, such as strengthening teacher-student relationships, fostering a culture of questioning in the classroom, building communities of practice, and more; aimed at equipping educators with the skills and knowledge essential for contemporary and effective teaching.

Sustained Programmes
Prerana

11 dedicated teachers from Sri Guru Harkrishan High School have successfully completed Prerana, a Sustained Teacher Development Programme with TTF. This transformative programme is designed as a comprehensive school intervention package, focusing on enhancing the everyday processes of teaching and learning.  Congratulations to all the teachers for their hard work and commitment to professional growth!

Rajinder Kaur, Principal of Sri Guru says,
“As educators, it’s our duty to continuously upgrade ourselves, and this training provided just that. It offered fresh perspectives on how to create a classroom environment where students are eager to participate and engage in their learning journey. I am hopeful that, with continued effort, we will achieve our goals of creating more enriching and interactive learning experiences."

Safe & Senstive Schools Programme

As part of the Safe & Sensitive Schools (SASS) initiative, Mother Divine Public School, New Delhi, recently hosted a demo session on Quality Classroom Teaching (QCT) for their 3rd-grade students. The session, conducted by TTF, is a key component of the SASS programme, which aims to create safe and nurturing environments for both students and staff. Through this programme, the school is fostering positive, constructive, and collaborative policies, spaces, and interactions that promote overall well-being.

A snapshot of this engaging demo session is highlighted below.

Livewire Programmes

A group of 30 teachers from across four branches of Lodha World School, Mumbai, participated in a workshop focused on Progress in Early Years. The session provided valuable tools and strategies for assessing and documenting the progress of young children, as well as effective methods for sharing this information with parents. The workshop equipped teachers with practical insights to enhance their understanding of early childhood development and improve communication with families about student growth.
"The most useful aspect of the workshop for me was learning methods to conduct observations that assess and track students' progress. It’s crucial to evaluate the level of learning at regular intervals, using descriptive observations and maintaining them as records", says Sunita Prabhakar.

Circles of Support

TTF has been hosting Circles of Support, a monthly online session designed for educators who have participated in Whole School Quality Time (QCT) with TTF. The topics covered so far are Choosing the Right Topic, QCT Lesson Planning, Games & Energisers and Effective Use of Stems. The purpose of these sessions is to provide a platform for educators to discuss challenges they may be facing while planning their QCT lessons and improve their ability to implement QCT lessons more effectively.
