In our recent Beyond the Binary webinar, Leadership Coach and CTA Psychotherapist Deepak Dhananjaya highlighted the importance of fostering open conversations and creating inclusive policies and structures in schools. "It is crucial to provide students with spaces where they can express themselves without fear of judgement," Dhananjaya shared.
Being sensitive to children's gender and sexuality is foundational in creating inclusive classrooms. Today’s teachers need both the knowledge and skills to foster authentic, meaningful interactions.
There is an urgent need for educators to promote dialogue and implement inclusive practices, ensuring safe and equitable learning environments for students with diverse gender and sexual identities.

A group of 30 teachers from across four branches of Lodha World School, Mumbai, participated in a workshop focused on Progress in Early Years. The session provided valuable tools and strategies for assessing and documenting the progress of young children, as well as effective methods for sharing this information with parents. The workshop equipped teachers with practical insights to enhance their understanding of early childhood development and improve communication with families about student growth.
"The most useful aspect of the workshop for me was learning methods to conduct observations that assess and track students' progress. It’s crucial to evaluate the level of learning at regular intervals, using descriptive observations and maintaining them as records", says Sunita Prabhakar.
