Improving Students' Literacy, Numeracy and Social & Emotional Skills in Nashik, Maharashtra
Our project in Dindori block of Nashik is now into its second year. This three-year project aims at transforming foundational literacy and numeracy by supporting 100+ teachers in English language and Maths teaching through demo lessons, classroom observations of teachers and one-on-one feedback. These initiatives have significantly improved student engagement and strengthened their foundational literacy and numeracy levels.
Chhaya Dasharath Shinde, who teaches at Z.P. Primary School, Lakhmapur, says, “Since 2023, our school has been implementing the TTF training programme, where TTF mentors guide us on students' social emotional learning and effective teaching strategies. Demo lessons in Mathematics and English, using innovative teaching aids, have been particularly beneficial. Observing these lessons helps us identify areas for improvement, learn new concepts, and enhance student engagement. This inspiring programme has greatly improved my teaching quality and professional growth."

Improving reading and social-emotional skills of children from Government schools of Karnataka

As part of our ongoing efforts to support quality education in Govt schools, 200 teachers from schools across Bangalore South district participated in a two-day training programme which focused on strengthening children’s reading skills and social-emotional learning skills through our Reading for Real module and the Whole School Quality Circle Time (QCT) approach respectively.
To reinforce the learning, the training was followed up with school-based support, when facilitators observed teachers in their classrooms and offered personalised feedback.
At the onset, a baseline assessment of students was undertaken in reading and social-emotional skills. The programme culminated with an endline assessment.
