Daksh: The Whole School Audit

The Whole School Audit

Schools must periodically take stock of where they are currently in terms of stakeholder perceptions, teaching-learning practices and policies and essential documentation.

Having a reputed, independent organisation assess a school, based on robust and reliable quality standards is vital. The Teacher Foundation’s Daksh – The Whole School Audit is highly recommended.

Daksh draws from the inputs of all stakeholders from a school, and focuses on how everything that happens in the school influences current teaching and learning. The school will get to know where it stands in terms of four key aspects that affect quality schooling.

The Whole School Audit
The Four Aspects of Schooling and Daksh!

There is no single recipe for a successful school. There are multiple factors that need to work together to make a great school and based on years of international and national research on school education we have summed them up into four aspects that directly affect the quality of schooling.

How is the audit done?

How is the audit done?

The Teacher Foundation’s specially designed package of school audit tool, appropriately called Daksh – provides schools direction! Daksh can accurately evaluate a school and promote school effectiveness. There are a total of 67 indicators that are classified under 13 characteristics and four broad essential domains : Leadership and Management, Teaching , Learning and Assessment, Student Environment and Community Involvement.

Data collection is carried out using 4 Questionnaires – Teacher Interview, Head Interview, Student Interview and Parent Interview and 4 Checklists – Documentary Evidence Checklist, School Observation Check-list, Infrastructure Checklist and Classroom Observation Checklist. School Audit experts from The Teacher Foundation collect data from the school to be analysed using Daksh, using the questionnaires and checklists. Based on the data collected, TTF presents the Audit Report to the members of the school management and the teaching staff and thereby enables them to plan for school improvement.

On average, a teacher teaches at least forty children every year. Over a 25 year career, that is one thousand children. That means, when we enable and inspire ONE teacher, we touch over ONE THOUSAND lives. So contribute to ONE teacher’s training and touch the lives of a thousand children!
