TTF, supported by Swades Foundation, was working with 200 schools across 6 blocks, both Government and aided schools, in the Raigad region for a period of one year to help these schools develop a culture of ongoing professional learning and development among the teachers, resulting in better student learning experience and outcomes.

Based on our experience working with schools in Raigad earlier, clubbed with the feedback from Swades Foundation and DIET Officials – TTF revamped its teacher training model in the region for embedding changes in teaching – learning process in schools.

TTF offered a holistic and coherent professional development through an in-school mentoring programme. This included Classroom observations of teachers, followed by feedback and Demo lessons conducted by TTF facilitators. The aim was to help teachers and heads see the possibility of student-centred learning practices, despite existing constraints and slowly but surely embed effective processes in each school.

A block-wise baseline data from Raigad

*Red stands for teachers, heads and schools demonstrating little or no evidence of good practice measured against 38 indicators.

*Yellow refers to average performance.

*Green indicates teachers, heads and schools who have performed above average.

TTF will track these schools, heads and teachers and facilitate their shift to the right.

Testimonials from teachers participating in the program

The feedback provided by TTF benefits the school in many ways. We realized from the classroom observations report that we need to work towards holistic development of the school.

Mr. Virkud, RZP School, Shekhadi, Shriwardhan

The baseline report helps us to enhance the school’s overall quality, the students’ self-confidence and teachers’ skills up-gradation. We will make the necessary changes in the school as per the action plan.

Mrs. Pawar, Pabhare High School, Mhasla
